Male High School Hockey Player, Livonia Michigan

My dad and I sat down with Wendi back in December 2019 to talk about my struggles with gaining weight and cramping when I got off the ice. I had no idea what I ate played a role in how I skated. I used to feel tried, heavy, and slow towards the end of practice and my final period of play until I started eating more carbohydrates and protein. I drew out how to build a plate in Wendi’s office on her white board and it was the first time I understood portions. I also was able to see how much a difference eating larger portion sizes more frequently supported my weight. We are still working on more veggies, but I eat more than I used to. Hire Wendi, she is worth it!

Is Your Athlete Fueling Enough to Perform & Stay Healthy?

Most high school and college athletes don’t struggle because they aren’t training hard enough.

They struggle because they are:

👉Under-fueling without realizing it
👉 Eating “healthy” but not enough for sport
👉Training hard while under-recovering

Over time, this leads to:
– Low energy
– Poor recovery
– Increased injury risk

I created a free Athlete Fueling Checklist to help parents and athletes identify common fueling mistakes and understand what to fix next.
