D1 Female Track Athlete Gains Strength and Transforms Her Relationship with Food!

"Following Wendi's tips helped me gain strength and improve my performance as an elite TF athlete!"

“I believe God allowed me to come across Wendi’s page about a year ago and it has been such a blessing.
In 2022 I left for college and between the transition of living away from home, Celiac disease, a new gluten-free diet, and a more rigorous athletic schedule I began to struggle. A lot. In a little over a year I had lost 30 pounds. Initially, the weight loss was slow but it was beneficial because I became leaner and more fit. But after a while, it seemed I had lost control. I struggled to consume enough quality calories and seemed to be burning off everything I ate. By last year’s Christmas break, I was down to 104 pounds. It was about this time when my Mom ran across your social media account. She sent it to me and I began to follow your sample plans for female athletes. Besides food, I also began to see how much of a difference quality sleep makes. All of this has made a world of difference. By the grace of God, in my weaker state, I had still qualified for our indoor conference meet.

However after the new tips and perspectives had been incorporated, I thankfully even scored points that aided in our Outdoor Season Conference Championship.I attend academic and athletic scholarships and can thankfully say that I’m now much stronger, faster, happier, and can think clearer than I did before. I used to worry that I wouldn’t be able to stay healthy enough to meet my obligations and might lose my opportunities but now I feel present and see my dreams becoming more possible every day. I’ve not only had the opportunity to pole vault at our meets but I’ve been allowed to high jump in outdoor last year and train for the 600/800m this year. God works in mysterious ways :)Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with me and others, Wendi! The tips have helped more than you’ll ever know. God bless!!”

Is Your Athlete Fueling Enough to Perform & Stay Healthy?

Most high school and college athletes don’t struggle because they aren’t training hard enough.

They struggle because they are:

👉Under-fueling without realizing it
👉 Eating “healthy” but not enough for sport
👉Training hard while under-recovering

Over time, this leads to:
– Low energy
– Poor recovery
– Increased injury risk

I created a free Athlete Fueling Checklist to help parents and athletes identify common fueling mistakes and understand what to fix next.
